The voice of devoid Spaniards must be brought to the attention of the European Parliament; of those who have not had a say in this Parliament for decades. The voice of those who believe that Europe is much more than the European Union. The voice of those who do not want Members submissive to parliamentary majorities, but demanding in the defence of their interests.
We come to the European Parliament to defend, whenever at stake, Spain’s sovereignty and the rights, interests and aspirations of Spaniards. To demand respect due to our nation, its past, its inheritance and its tradition.
We must denounce the federal and anti-national overindulgences of bureaucracies and unfair claims of the globalist elites. And contribute to the promotion of that other Europe that is possible; a Europe of sovereign nations that cooperate freely and voluntarily; a Europe at the service of human dignity and the freedom of families; a Europe that defends the millions of owners and workers at risk of being stripped of; a Europe that is truly an area of freedom, security and justice, serving families and economic and spiritual prosperity.
In the Committee on Constitutional Affairs, I have the current challenge of facing up to the progressive consensus moving towards a federal Europe that eliminates the freedom of nations: the so-called Conference on the Future of Europe, which effectively threatens to change Europe and render it unrecognisable.
In the Committee on Legal Affairs, there are several challenges at stake; the first, undoubtedly, to bring Puigdemont and its anti-Spanish coup cronies to the trial of our courts; and then to call for the EU, and in particular the Parliament, to be respectful of national laws and the Treaties themselves.
In the Committee on Liberties, we must be very demanding in defending our borders. The immigrant invasion of Europe is the major political challenge of our time. And the Committee on Liberties must demand the firm defence of our borders and of our constitutional system. Zero tolerance for illegal immigration and firm defence of the individual freedoms won by Western Civilisation for the individual: the right to life, the right to establish a family, human dignity, freedom of thought, opinion, expression, ideological and religious life; they are all extremely endangered because of the challenges of the progressive consensus.
